Summer is coming!

Summer is coming, hurray! So we are offering special rates that run from now until June 15th. Take a look at the website for more information, at http://www.mauikennels.com/. Even if you book for next Christmas during this time, we will honor our advertised rate. But you must book during the special time. We are getting booked up for July, so call now and reserve a spot. Our dog Lili, is looking forward to playing with your pet. (She is the mother hen of the kingdom and helps looks after all.)

But, now onto our guests. It was sad to see Rowdy and Brandy go. We got attached to them. But, they were so happy to see their owner, Peter. He took adavantage of our pick up service. So, we picked him up at the airport and drove him home with his doggies. He really liked that. He didn't have to come pick them up, and after a long time flight from the Orient...going straight home with his best buddies was such a great feeling. We look forword to seeing Brandy and Rowdy again.

Doggie Photos

If you are interested in purchasing any photos from this site or are interested in seeing more photos of our Doggie guests, please contact me at Mauikennels@yahoo.com, and I will provide you with the password to access those photos on www.lionsgate.smugmug.com. You can also purchase additional prints, or have your favorite pooch put on different type of merchandise. You can also order the prints put on canvas. This has become a favorite feature to our clients.
Aloha and thanks for visiting us.

Rowdy and Brandy

Sad to say that tomorrow Rowdy and Brandy will be going home. We have had lot's of fun with them. Today we found 3 hidden tennis balls for Rowdy. They were hidden under Brandy's bed. I think she was hiding them from him, as he is such a ball hog. He was sooooo excited and happy to see the tennis balls.
Brandy had a great time digging in the sand pile.

They both were so happy to take some pictures together in the Protea.

Brandy and Rowdy

Brandy and Rowdy are still with us. They are here for an extended time. They are having such a good time. Now we understand why Rowdys owner left so many tennis balls for him to play with. Not only does he love the ball to be thrown, but he likes to tear them apart. Rowdy has been such a good boy and is learning manners very well. Brandy is a bit shy, but has really come along way since being here. She smiles when you call her. I have to some how catch that smile on camera.

We have been receiving quite a few requests for reservations for the summer. So it should be a lot of fun. Looking forward to our return guests as well. Nows the time to reserve a space.

Here are a couple more fun pictures of previous guests who stayed with us and a photo session during the holidays.

To the upper left, we are trying on shades on "Pili", then there is "Bear" who took my little toy away from me. So cute! On the right, well ...we had a bit of a time controlling the reptiles on Santa during the Christmas photo shoot.

Happy Easter

We wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter. All of our guests are having an "Egg cellent" time.

So far everyone is "Hoppy", especially since they know some "bunny" loves them.

So with that...
I did say that I would post some funny moments. So, why not start today.

Have a happy Easter everyone!!

Bella and Papito left today.

It was a sad day. Bella and Papito left us today to go home. We really enjoyed having them. Bella and Papito liked cruising around with us on the property. They were so well behaved, we didn't even need to walk them with a leash. They made some good friends while they were here, and played the whole time.

Bella was especially sad when Bear left yesterday. Ada, the beautiful Huskey also left yesterday. We miss her singing to the music. She was sweet. She was funny, as when she was "singing", it wasn't like a full blown howl. It was a subtle soft howl. We hope everyone stays in touch to let us know how the pooches are doing. It's hard sometimes to say good bye, because we tend to build an attachment and relationship with our guests.

So, like I promised...here are a couple pics of our new guests, "Rowdie", and "Brandie. Rowdy loves his tennis ball, and to play. He is very determined to play with our pet piggie Tiffany, but he is a little too much for Tiffany. Tiffany gets a little fisty anyways. Brandie, is such a sweetheart. When I went to take her picture, she had no problem what so ever to sit and lay down while she was being photo'd. She such a good girl. These two will have another new friend joining us for a couple days on Friday. Our new guests' name is Boston, and he is from Makawao. We can't wait to meet him.

As you can see, Rowdie was giving me the Raspberries when I was taking his picture. Which gave me an idea for my next post. I have many funny photos of our guests with goofy faces and silly tongue pictures. So, I think they are cute and funny and will give you a smile. So check back for a laugh.

Two new guests and in Loving Memory

We have two new guests, Rowdy and Brandy. I will try and get their pictures posted up tomorrow. Rowdy is a handsome Pit, who just loves to chase the ball and play, play, play. His favorite is chasing the tennis balls. His Kennels mate, is Brandy. She is a sweet mixture. Looks like she has some lab in her. Her and Rowdy are buddies, and pretty much play together all the time. She is getting used to the environment and the other guests. But, she should warm up...although, most of the other guests will be leaving this week. Rowdy, Brandy, and their owner Peter, are from Kihei. Rowdy is a return guest. First time at our Kennels, but I doggie sat Rowdy around 4 or 5 years ago when I started Waggin' Tails, pet sitting.
Today, we finalized the plans for the new kennels. It is going to be great! We can't wait.
From time to time, I will post pic's of our prior guests. But, at this time I wanted to take a moment to remember a couple of our guests who have recently passed away since their stay with us. Ole Yody, and Truffles. Yody was a good ole boy, and even with his aches and pains...he forced himself to play and chace the ball while he was with us. Yodi and his owners and good friends, Donna and John, was an Olinda resident. Truffles...well, I could write so much about Truffles. She was part of the family. We loved the times we had with her when we had the privilege of taking care of her and her buddy Lucy. Truffles belonged to our good friends Mark and Julie from Pukalani. Truffles is very much missed.

Just another day...

Today was just another day at the kennels. The doggie guests played, ate, and slept. It was partially sunny, then some mist came through on and off. It felt nice actually. I picked fresh flowers for the kennels. We try and refresh them every week. Ada chose to sing a tune to the music today. Papito wanted to pose for the camera, and everyone else was playing around. It was a "ruff" day.

Jasmine ended up staying longer

Bella and Papito were so happy then they found out that Jasmines' stay got extended. They became great friends. But, Jasmine did finally leave yesterday. We loaded her up in her kennel on her owners, James', truck and took her to pick him up at the airport. So, they headed straight home to Lahaina. We were sad to see her leave as well. She is such a well mannered dog.

Although Bella and Papito made friends with Jasmine and were sad to see her go, they were excited to see a new guest... "Bear". As you can see Papito was showing a little smile.

Bear also came from Lahaina. Maybe one day Bear and Jasmine will meet up while running on the beach in Lahaina. Bear and his owner, Gordin, also took advantage of our park and ride program. Bear will be with us for just a few days.

When he got here, he was so excited to see he had two very cool new buddies to play with. They all hit it off right away. See how Bear is smiling? Such a good boy.

Today, April 1st, we got another addition to the new formed "Dog Pal Club". We have a beautiful female husky, by the name of "Ada". She is anxious to get to know everyone. But, we are going to take our time letting everyone get to know each other. Ada and her owner, Karen, are from Haiku. Ada, will also only be with us for a few days. All of our guests are "paw-riffic" guests. They are well behaved, but more important...they know how to have fun.
